Briefs from Claw

People who come to Claw through Find a Lawyer describe their matter. The Claw desk offers suitable matters, privately, to newly enrolled advocates who practise in that area and place.

The rules, plainly

Free both ways

You pay nothing to receive a brief, and the client pays Claw nothing to be matched.

No fee share

Claw takes no fee and no share of your fee. What you agree with the client is between you.

The client chooses

Accepting shares your name and number with the client. The client decides whether to engage you.

Nothing is advertised

Briefs are offered privately to one advocate at a time. Advocates are never listed or ranked.

How it works

01

Turn briefs on

In your portfolio or Settings, choose your areas, the courts you appear in and how many briefs a month you want.

02

The desk offers a matter

Suitable advocates are those who are verified, have briefs on and share the area and city. Among them, the desk offers first to whoever has had the fewest recent briefs. This is for fairness, not ranking.

03

Accept or pass

Accept, and the client’s name and number are revealed. Pass, with an optional reason. If you do neither, the offer lapses.

04

Talk to the client directly

You contact the client. Fees and terms are between you and the client. Then mark the brief Engaged, Not engaged or Closed.

Who can receive briefs

Advocates whose enrolment the Claw desk has verified. Until verification is complete, briefs stay locked and the page explains why.

No promise of work

Briefs depend on clients coming to Find a Lawyer in your area. Claw does not promise any number of briefs, and the client always chooses.
