What Claw collects when you use Claw Careers, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.

Last updated 4 November 2026

Claw is the data fiduciary for Claw Careers. We ask for your consent when you join, and we use your data only for the purposes stated below. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

What we collect

Account
Name, city, mobile number, and an email address if you give one
Advocates
State Bar Council, enrolment number and year, and the certificate if you upload it
Students
College, course, year of study, and a college email if you give one
Portfolio
Headline, about, education, experience, work you upload, areas, languages, what you are open to
Activity
Applications, answers to screening questions, messages, interviews, briefs and Well Argued submissions
Hirers
Name, role, work email, organisation details, and the enrolment, CIN or GSTIN used to verify it

We do not collect your Aadhaar number, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.

Why we use it

To match you with openings

Shared areas, city and enrolment, shown to you as plain reasons.

To verify enrolment and organisations

The Claw desk checks the State Bar Council roll or the company registers.

To send your applications

Hirers you apply to see your portfolio and your answers.

To offer briefs, if you turn them on

When you accept, your name and number go to that client.

We also use your details to sign you in, keep the platform safe and answer you when you write to us. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who sees what

The public
Nothing about candidates. Openings, firm pages and published Well Argued wins are public
Signed-in hirers
Your portfolio, your council and year, and the Verified mark. Not your mobile number or enrolment number, unless you choose to show the number
Firms you apply to
Also your cover note, answers and the resume you chose
A client, for a brief
Your name and mobile number, only after you accept their brief
The Claw desk
Everything needed to verify you, route briefs and act on reports
Service providers
Hosting, SMS and email providers, bound by contract to use the data only to provide their service
You control visibility

In Settings you can pause your portfolio so no hirer can find it, and hide or show your enrolment number.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and portfolio: while your account is open.
  • When you delete your account, we erase your data, except what the law requires us to keep, such as records needed to resolve a pending complaint.
  • Applications are kept with the hirer’s pipeline while your account is open, and removed when you delete it.
  • Uploaded certificates are kept only as long as needed to verify you.

Your rights
